Unit 3: Self and Unit Evalution

Regarding My Work

1. What were the three aspects of the assignments I've submitted that I am most proud of?

Three aspects of the assignments i'm most proud of are how they are organized, how the pictures came out for the lab project, and how complete the compendium review is.

2. What two aspects of my submitted assignments do I believe could have used some improvement?

Two aspects that could have used some improvement are the ethical issues essay, and I missed some parts that needed to be included in the unit lab.

3. What do I believe my overall grade should be for this unit?

I dont know hopefully a B

4. How could I perform better in the next unit?

Make sure I have a better understanding of the unit.

Regarding The Unit

At what moment during this unit did you feel most engaged with the course?

During the lab project

At what moment unit did you feel most distanced from the course?

Doing the compendium review.

What action that anyone (teacher or student) took during this unit that find most affirming and helpful?

None that I can think of.

What action that anyone (teacher or student) took during this unit did you find most puzzling or confusing?

What about this unit surprised you the most? (This could be something about your own reactions to the course, something that someone did, or anything else that occurs to you.)

How involved the process is to contract a muscle.

What are the two best features of the essay?
I liked the way you introduced the questions at the beginning. Then answered each one throughout your essay. I also liked the way you offered a few answers to the epidemic of obesity.
What are the two things that could most be improved?
I am not sure that there is much that can be improved upon. Maybe you could have offered more ideas of how to incorporate exercise into our already packed lives.

What is something new that the essay made you think or reflect upon?
I liked the idea of building more communities with sidewalks and areas to exercise. Maybe a YMCA or local community center would be good.

What most surprised you in the essay?
When you said that some people consider exercise walking out to the mailbox and back. I just theard someone saying that they jokingly got their exercise for the day by doing just that. I guess you have to start somewhere.

SELF/UNIT FEEDBACK
Thanks for doing the usual questions. This unit Evaluation section asks you to post anonymously some answers to the course forum—see the section—and to also do the college course evaluation. I’ve given you credit, but would greatly appreciate it if you could do those two things. Thanks.

COMPENDIUM ONE—NERVOUS FUNCTION

COMPENDIUM TWO—MOVEMENT
Your compendiums are very complete and nice selection of images to include. Please be sure to do a table of contents that divides them up into major topic sections. Also, you might consider consolidating some of your information, and rather than just making lists, try to write or organize a shorter explanation that shows how the important pieces work together.

LAB ONE—LEECH NEURONS
Also, very complete write-up and good explanations/answers to questions.

LAB TWO—MUSCLE FUNCTION
Great write-up. Nice data presentation and good explantations.

LAB PROJECT—BUILD-A-LIMB
Great limb with nice details on the muscle contraction. I didn’t see any neurons in there, but everything else looks great.

ESSAY—EXERCISE/ACTIVITY. I didn’t see this essay in your blog. You can still do it for full credit if you would like—just e-mail me when it’s done.

Celina, nice work on this unit. I didn’t see the essay (see comment above). Also work on including citations of your sources in your compendiums and organizing them as I suggest. Keep up the good work,
LF
